ACCU-PRESSURE SAFETY CAPS FOR TIRES

  ASSESSING YOUR NEED

Do you really need this? Take a look at the potential benefits and you will soon see that you may be asking yourself the question "Can I do without this???"

TEMPERATURE EFFECTS AND ACCEPTED LOSS OVER TIME:

Tires can lose one psi (pound per square inch) per month under normal conditions. Additionally, tires can lose 1 psi for every 10°F temperature drop.

What this means is that you should check your tires on a normal schedule, paying special attention during changes of seasons or conditions that result in large temperature changes to your tires.

EFFECTS OF LOW PRESSURE DUE TO WEIGHT:

Gross Vehicle Weight: 6840 lbs.
Assumed to be fully loaded.

At 30 psi:
Tire carrying capacity:
 6840 lbs.

At 20 psi (low pressure):
Tire carrying capacity:
5610 lbs.

In the example above, when tire pressure is allowed to decrease down to 20 psi, a typical 6840 lb vehicle (fully loaded weight in this example), will be 1230 lbs. OVERLOADED. This is equivalent to over eight 150 lb people.
